I think you made a typo.

 r1c6 = 3

 after x-wing on 5 in columns 3 and 9.

 which solves it.

	| Also xy-wing 29-8 pivot at r9c4 gives r2c5 <>8 and I suspect there are others. |

Remote Pairs sounds a lot better than something like

 double double u wing. |

Looks like a chain of 89's will also do it.

 r9c1, r6c1, r5c2, r5c9 leaving r9c9 = 1

 Seems a bit unusual. |

Marty, and everyone else. I'm so sorry. Take back everything I said. I had W-wing definitions fouled up. If there is a W-wing elimination it certainly isn't what I said.

 Sorry again. |

	Marty,

Sorry, I made a typo, the elimination of candidate 9 should have been in r7c3.

 69 in r2c9 sees 269 in r7c9 which has a strong link on 6 to 69 in r7c8 which sees 69 in r4c8, thus 9 is eli ... |

Good to see you getting in there early again Marty.

For those of us who sometimes see different solutions (and usually more cumbersome solutions) there is a W-wing of 69 in r2c9 and r4c8 eliminatin ... |

I think you got it right, but as you say, with some unusual terminology, and it appears a mistake in the column number.

 How about:

xy wing 17-3 at r1c1 which gives

 r45c3 <> 3

 which l ... |

	| W-wing using 69's with a strong link on 9's in row 5 yields r6c4 <>6 which also solves. This seemed to be one of the easier "very hard" puzzles. |

	Hello Everyone,

Have to get in my two cents.

Looks to me like r2c4 is connected by two w-wings both using the same end points (r7c4 and r2c8):

 The first w-wing involves a strong link on 6 in ... |
