My Uncle Bob found the 18 w-wing pretty quickly and then it was as easy as Aunt Sue's pie.

I used the skyscraper of 4's in columns 4 and 7 that eliminates the same 4 in R8C5.

Anyone have any hint or tips on how to spot these xyz-wings? I'm not sure I ever would have found it.

In Adobe, zoom to a portion of the puzzle, so you only have a quarter of it on your screen. Then print it, using "Current view" instead of "Current page" or "All pages". ...

After basic moves, I was done. I didn't seem to need any kind of wing.

I had some trouble with it too. You also need to look at c2 which is where I failed to look originally.

My new friend the W-wing in boxes 7 8 9! The 35 pair in boxes 7 and 9, plus that there is no 5 in row 7 of box 8, allowed me to eliminate the 3's from box 7 row 8 and from box 9 row 9.

I see a skyscraper of 3's in columns 4 & 8, and a skyscraper of 9's in rows 4 & 9.
