I used a w-wing <89> with a the hinge/group link as noted by Norm in another post, plus a type 3 UR <19> to finish off this puzzle.

The first move was the difficult one for me to locate.

Ted,

if this is the w-wing to which you refer

Code:
.---------------------.---------------------.---------------------.
| 2      67     3     | 4      789    6789  | 5     #89     1     |
| 57     147    145   | 179    2      13789 |38-9    6      378   |
| 8      167    9     | 5      137    1367  | 4      2      37    |
:---------------------+---------------------+---------------------:
| 3      179    8     | 26     179    179   | 26     5      4     |
| 567    2      45    | 67     358    348   | 1     *378    9     |
| 567    1479   145   | 12679  358    348   |*38    *378    26    |
:---------------------+---------------------+---------------------:
| 4      8      2     | 19     6      159   | 7      39     35    |
| 1      5      6     | 3      79     279   |#89     4      28    |
| 9      3      7     | 8      4      25    | 26     1      256   |
'---------------------'---------------------'---------------------'

then the elimination of that 9 reduces the puzzle to singles.

Norm, yes that is the W-wing I used. Sometimes I do not do alot of basic clean-up after each move, especially if I notice another step. I suspect that is what happen in this instance.

Thanks very much for your input and also for pointing out in detail this hinge/group link technique.
