| Yes - a good one. I try to avoid wings and used an ER and UR to solve <2> in C2. But still needed a wing to finish. |

Hello all Sudoku players!
I am new here and I am a beginner solver. I found this page a while a go and started doing the dailies since the beginning of this year. Its great fun but my skills are not very advanced, though I managed to solve all puzzles this far.
Yesterdays puzzle was the first real tough one, I am stuck and would like to ask for your expert opinion please.

Couple of basic things: look for a pair in col 1, then look at the
4's and 8's in block 4. what happens to the other 4's and 8's in row 6?
There is a 59 w-wing in col 4 and 6 that link to 9's in block 5.
This would eliminate the 5 in r1c4. Hope this helps you get started.

| I am using the draw/play tool and this one took me 20 mins, and that was after I messed up and had to start over 5 times. I saw the ER 2, and a UR 23 along the way. |

First, welcome. (It really is not up to me, but I say it any way.) Welcome.
I too have been following this board for a while. In this time I have learned:
1. This board is good.
2. Do not get discouraged.
3. The process works.
4. Learning the process is time consuming (and at times confusing).
5. The members help get the answers (and more importantly 'why' and 'how' they got the answers.
