After getting to the point below in todays puzzle the hint told me where to place the "9", but I am unable to figure out by logic how the "6" got eliminated. Can someone please explain the hint.

Thanks,
David

There is an X-Wing on 6 (R1 C4) (R1 C7) and (R5 C4) (R5 C7). This eliminates the 6 in (R2 C7)

There is also a complementary X-wing in r2c5, r4c5, r2c9, & r4c9 which makes the same exclusion.

In trying to replicate the candidate list shown above, I got to this point
Code:

 *-----------------------------------------------------------*
 | 7     8     1     | 269   5     29    | 26    4     3     |
 | 5     2     3     | 4     67    8     | 69    19    1679  |
 | 4     9     6     | 1     3     27    | 5     8     27    |
 |-------------------+-------------------+-------------------|
 | 1     3     9     | 567   67    4     | 8     2     56    |
 | 8     7     5     | 69    2     1     | 36    39    4     |
 | 2     6     4     | 359   8     359   | 1     7     59    |
 |-------------------+-------------------+-------------------|
 | 9     5     8     | 23    4     6     | 7     13    12    |
 | 6     4     27    | 8     1     237   | 239   5     29    |
 | 3     1     27    | 257   9     257   | 4     6     8     |
 *-----------------------------------------------------------*

but couldn't figure out how the 2 & 7 were placed in box 7.
