This one has been in my files for quite a long time.

My notes say it is from daily-sudoku.com (with a dash).

Every time I learn a new technique I try but never manage to solve it.

Anyone got an idea? Maybe something for the coming weekend?

A word of caution: this looks to be a serious puzzle, a very long way out of my depth.

Sudoku Explainer rated it at 8.9 and used these tricks to solve it:
54 x Hidden Single
1 x Direct Hidden Pair
3 x Naked Single
1 x Direct Hidden Triplet
15 x Pointing
1 x Claiming
1 x Naked Pair
2 x Hidden Pair
1 x Swordfish
1 x Hidden Triplet
1 x Unique Rectangle type 1
3 x Bidirectional Y-Cycle
3 x Turbot Fish
2 x Forcing X-Chain
8 x Forcing Chain
9 x Region Forcing Chains
4 x Cell Forcing Chains
1 x Dynamic Region Forcing Chains
1 x Dynamic Cell Forcing Chains

Whether 25 forcing chains are actually necessary may be open to question but I shall leave it to the more robust solvers to find out.

Steve
