There is at first sight a useless Type 3 UR(I'm not sure about the Type number of this Unique Rectangle, I still can't memorize them) in R78C35*, but taking

a closer look at it, this useless UR can become very useful.

For avoiding the [17] DP(Deadly Pattern) either R7C5=5 or R8C5=8 or both(both is not an option here because it results in a triple <17> pair in Box 5), now

by transporting these two digits(5 and 8)we create two pincer cells for digit <8> (A and B), so we can eliminate <8> in R4C2.

A. R7C5=[5] => R4C6=[5] => R1C6=[1] => R1C2=[8]

B. R8C5=|8| => R8C6=|1| => R1C6=|5| => R4C6=|8|

Code:
+--------------------------+--------------------------+--------------------------+
| 38      A 1[8]      4    | 2         6       [1]|5| | 39         7        359  |
| 39        12        239  | 15        4        7     | 6          35       8    |
| 6         7         5    | 8         9        3     | 2          4        1    |
+--------------------------+--------------------------+--------------------------+
| 7         2-[8]     39   | 4         258   B [5]|8| | 1          6        39   |
| 189       4         29   | 3         1278     6     | 79         258      25   |
| 138       5         6    | 17        1278     9     | 37         28       4    |
+--------------------------+--------------------------+--------------------------+
| 2         3       * 17   | 1567    * 1[5]7    4     | 8          9        67   |
| 5         6       * 17   | 9       * 17|8|   |1|8   | 4          23       23   |
| 4         9         8    | 67        3        2     | 5          1        67   |

No, but that was also my first (advanced) step - too obvious to ignore (and it does solve r7c9=6, but not "it")
Then xy-wing 18-15-58 solving r4c2. Maybe that alone would have sufficed.

All in all, very straightforward.

That noted philosopher, Yogi Berra, said, "if you come to a fork in the road, take it." If you see a rectangle, play it. So I did and later finished the puzzle with the XY-Wing.

My reaction to this one was that the XY Wing solves it but it starts in Box 1 and is all in the top left part of the puzzle whic is where for me it is easiest to spot!

From storm_norm's position, the (r2c2) 12-28-85-51 (r1c6) xy-chain also solves the puzzle.
