Quite straight forward. Wonder if there is anything other than an XY Wing.

				| My solution used an XY wing BUT one element was "hidden" via 2 incidence sof XYZ so wherever Z is there is an XY left to complete the wing. Maybe I missed something but if you did the same thing is this a newish variant of XY wings? |

				| Using arkietech's diagram, all that is needed to solve this one is the 69,69,69,369 UR. Not really a VH puzzle. |

				| The Type 1 UR was clearly conspicuous in its perceptibility. As easy as the Very Hards get. |

I tend to refuse the DR solutions, and look for the others.

I missed the simple XY chain 259, but saw first the "hidden" one whichI think is interesting. in BOX 4 there are two 158, and the one must go into one of these to leave the other to give the XY chain 589 eliminating 5 in r6c1 and solving the puzzle. So is there a proper and better description of this that I have called "hidden"? |

				| UR {6,9} in r48c56 eliminating 69 in r8c6 solves the puzzle. |

George,

That is a standard two ALS elimination, here involving two 2-cell ALSs. The first is 158 in r46c2. The second is 589 in r8c2 & r9c1. The "shared exclusive" digit is <8>. The "shared common" digit is <5>. The <5> at r6c1 can "see" all three of these <5>s and so is eliminated.

I believe some folks call these "xz wings" or some such. In any case, XY and XYZ Wings are just the simplest cases of the more general two ALS elimination. |

Another non-DR way is:

The strong link on 5s in box 7 allow a w-wing on 25s that make the marked eliminations, rendering it all too easy. |
