				Grid's too busy for me. I removed an 8 and 1 from box 4 from coloring on 8 and could remove a 3 from r7c2 due to the Hidden UR, but that looks fruitless.

				aran, nice solution.

I do want to draw your attention to the following points :

1. You can go directly from r3c2 to r9c2.

2. You forgot to indicate <17>r68c8 in the list of eliminations (required to get ste).

Just for the fun, here is another single-stepper :

9r9c2=9r3c2-9r3c5=9r5c5-9r6c4=1247r46c46-(12=8)r6c3-8r2c3=8r2c2 :=> -8r9c2; ste

Best Regards, JC |

Good solution

On your first point, quite right (I had had my eye on r9c1 for a time, and must have felt it deserved a mention !).

On your second point, do you really think so ?... |

After <246>r9c2 and <8>r8c89, 4r8c2=4 ; then, either NP(57)r8c89 and r8c7=2, or <7>r8c2 (included in the eliminations from the loop) [and r8c8=5, r8c9=7, r8c7=2]; afterwards, singles only to the end (ste).

Best Regards, JC. |

After <246>r9c2 and <8>r8c89, r8c489=457, so <457>=2 r8c7.

You may not regard that as a "single".

I suppose it all depends on whether "single" means :

- a single can be placed next move

- a single can be placed next move only by one single weak link x-(x=y)

All that said, I must confess that I regard any position solved by ssts as solved full stop.

Perhaps sstste...would reflect that better |

Recalling your "almost naked pair" => "hidden naked pair" => "hidden pair" argument, IMO you should go with "hidden ste." |

A gem the size of an egg, now that is going a bit far. |
