I can't do it in less than 3:

The X-Wing on 1 in rows 2 and 6 and the 19-2 XY wing pivot r4c6

appear to be able to be done in either order. They are needed to open

the | Quote: | | 69-2 XY-wing pivot r1c4 | which finally settles its hash. Strangely, the cell solved by the X wing (r4c3)

is irrelevant to breaking the puzzle....

The X-Wing on 1 in c26 does it in a step. |

				Hugh,

First, either X-Wings on 1 (whether r26 or c26) removes 1 from both r1c4 and r4c3.

After some tidying up, you get a pair of 26 in c4, then another pair of 19 in box 5. I hope it helps.

Regards,

You are entirely correct- I was lax on my eliminations - not something

you want to do too often! |
