 Clumsy?  That was the only solution that I could find using just X, XY, and/or XYZ Wings!  And if it's the only one, then that's my 'preferred' solution!  That was a great one!

 Using Paolo's grid. There is a 19-8 XY-Wing pivoted in r7c3=> -8r5c1,r89c3.I don't know if that step is enough, but if not, certainly seems to make a good dent.

 Hey!  I missed that Marty!  Nice one.  It looks like that solves the same number of cells as Earl's first XY Wing so the other two steps look like they're still required.  Thanks, Don.
