				Look closely at row 2.

There are basic moves left but this puzzle will require a very advanced move to complete. |

				Hmmm ... require a very advanced move to complete?

For some reason I was able to complete using basics only - and I double checked just to make sure I didn't make any mistakes!

That's funny, I have that same book. I haven't done that many puzzles from it yet, but those I've seen don't live up to the book's title. Having said that, I don't see a solution to this one yet. |

If that's true, then a bug has crept into my program. Actually, the chain you posted doesn't "fit" what I remember for his "third way" either. |

Like beauty, "simpler" is in the eye of the beholder. I used Medusa, simple coloring (possibly not needed) and an external analysis of the 34 UR. Definitely simpler for me, as I don't understand all the Franken stuff. |

r1c5=6 -> r2c7=6, r5c8=6, r4c8=4         -> r4c4<>4

I don't know if this is a simple solution,

but I think it's easy to understand.

Not so easy for me, SudoQ. I can't get either chain to work starting from the position after basics.
